Luz - Single Pane

The pieces in the Luz collection are imprints of the Cocobolo wood oils.

Cocobolo is such an oily wood that during the guitar side bending process its oils would spill out and burn onto the machine. To remedy this, the wood is wrapped in paper so that those oils will absorb into the paper instead of burning onto the press. The result is paper that has captured the natural "finger print" of the wood!

These imprints, while beautiful in any light, truly come alive when the sun naturally shines through the frame. The oils produce an amber effect, bringing forth the grains and patterns of this remarkable wood.
